My brother played in PlusLiga and he told me a lot of good things about this experience – said Matti Oivanen, the new middle blocker of AZS Olsztyn, the last team of the previous edition of the Polish league.

Matti Oivanen has seen a lot of countries. During his career he experienced the game in Serie A, French league and Russian Superleague. Now it’s time for Poland. He signed a one year contract with AZS Olsztyn.

It has always been my dream to play in Plus Liga – Oivanen said – I asked my brother about an opinion and he could say only the good things (Mikko Oivanen was a player of Asseco Resovia and Trefl Gdansk).

Oivanen also had a chance to talk with Olli Kunnari – his colleague from the national team who was supporting AZS during the season 2008/2009.

Yes, I’ve spoken with him and I will speak some more in the future. For now, he told me about his nice memories from Poland. He also mentioned really cold Polish winter, but  I feel prepared for that (smile).
