After a fairly exciting beginning won by Jastrzebski Wegiel, later on Turkish team had no problems defeating Polish bronze medalist.

Both teams started with patience and calm. Jastrzebski Wegiel was slightly better on the first technical time out. Oliveira spiled his service and was followed by Juantorena (10:12). Kaziyski scored on the wing, Pajenk blocked another Turkish attack and head coach Stoychev stopped the game before Michal Masy’s service. Jastrzebie mantained it’s lead on the second TTO (14:16). Rafael stroke on the net. Juantorena got blocked. A few minutes later he gave his team a tie (22:22), but Polish team didn’t give up. Lasko scored by block (22:24), but the game went on and on. After a prolonged battle, Jastrzebski Wegiel closed the set as a winner – 36:34.
In the second set both teams again played like equal for a while, but this time, Halkbank achieved to top Jastrzebski Wegiel (14:8). Poles had troubles on service and Halkbank was working in defence. Rob Bontje was designated to help his team. Also Michal Kubiak was taken off the game, but Halkbank finished the job quickly by winning this part 25:16.
Rob Bontje stayed for the next episode of the game and he won a long action. Jastrzebie earned one yellow card for an inapropriate behavour directed to referee. The level of the game was improved and both teams fought strongly again. Jastrzebie took a lead after the first TTO (11:12). Juantorena scored on the net and showed a good service as well. Michal Lasko was blocked. In a few minutes Turkish team dominated the game and Juantorena kept bringing more and more points. Soon Jastrzebski fell far behind and it was no turning back – Halkbank finished this set without any problems.
Jastrzebski Wegiel get back on their feet yet again. They went ahead on the first TTO, but after that Osmany Juantorena helped to get the top position back. Resul Tekeli was stopped in the middle. Juantorena was sent away because of a health issue and Jastrzebie took an advantage of that very quickly. It did not stick for too long, Halkbank earned three points for this match by winning 3:1 with Jastrzebski Wegiel.
